Operation Break Bread – Prison Visits

The first group visit in July of 2017.

Operation Break Bread is a program that connects people in Pittsburgh with people who are incarcerated at SCI – Cambridge Springs. Our first group visit was in July of 2017 which brought together 11 Pittsburghers with 10 women on the inside. It was really fun! Since then we have connected over 30 people from Pittsburgh with people in CBS. We organize group visits several times a year and smaller groups go up often.

Our friends on the inside refer names of others who would like visits. If you are a family member and you want to carpool or add your loved one to our list to receive visits please contact us at: letsgetfreepa@gmail.com

If you are interested in visiting keep in mind the trip from Pittsburgh is two hours north.  We often leave by 9:30 in the morning and then return to Pittsburgh by 6pm if we stay until the end of the visit – 3:30.  We don’t always stay until end of visiting hours but still, it can take up a whole day!

Some people have only visited one time and some people go up again and again.  It’s important to not make any promises you can not keep. If you are interested in visiting someone at Cambridge Springs with us, please fill out this form and we will contact you and connect you!
